Garden City, N.Y. - Senior Gianna Smith (Hempstead, N.Y.) was named to the All-Met Division II Women's Basketball First Team by the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Assn.

Smith, last season's player of the year, completed her Adelphi career as the all-time leading scorer with 1,559 points. She led the Panthers in scoring, averaging 15.8 ppg and was second in rebounds (7.3). She was also named a first-team All-ECC selection and to the ECAC All-Tournament Team.

Kymira Woodberry of Molloy was named All-Met player of the year. John Burke of Dominican was selected coach of the year.

The All-Met awards will be presented Thursday evening, April 17, at the Giants Stadium Club in East Rutherford, N.J.
