Jamaal Wagner and Carlyshia Hurdle Named Adelphi Athletes of The Week

Garden City, N.Y. - Seniors Jamaal Wagner (Jamaica, N.Y.) and Carlyshia Hurdle (Brentwood, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the Week of December 20m 2005.

Wagner helped the Panthers extend their win streak to four-games by averaging 12.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals per game in wins over NYIT and Assumption. Wagner had his best game against Assumption, scoring 15 points, handing out five assists and grabbing five rebounds in just 23 minutes of action.

The Panthers will return to the court on December 31, when they match-up with Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Hurdle tied a career-high with 27 points in the first-place Panthers' win over NYIT on Wednesday, December 14. She recorded double-doubles in both of Adelphi's games last week, averaging 24 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. She added 21 points on 9-15 shooting against Pace on Monday, December 12. For the season Hurdle ranks third in the NYCAC in scoring (16.7 ppg) and second in rebounding (9.0 rpg). For her efforts Hurdle was named NYCAC Player of The Week.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, December 30 when they travel to Albany, New York to take on St. Rose at 7:00 pm.
