Senior Tal Sheinfeld (Even Yehoda, Israel) and Lauren Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of September 7, 2004.

Sheinfeld led the Panthers to a 1-1 record for the week, including a 2-1 win at Syracuse. Sheinfeld scored the game winner against Syracuse in the 72nd minute and assisted on the other Panther goal. The victory was the first win for Adelphi at Syracuse since 1990. For his efforts Sheinfeld was named ASC Player of the Week.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, September 8th when they play host to visiting Drexel University at 4:00 pm on Stiles Field.

Lopez helped the Panthers to a 2-0 record for the week with wins over Bloomsburg and American International (AIC). In Adelphi's 3-2 overtime win against AIC Lopez scored the game winner 5:07 into the second overtime to give the Panthers the win. Adelphi is ranked 21st in the nation in the latest NSCAA poll.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, September 11th when they travel to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania for a noon match-up with the Bald Eagles.
