Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Brian Volpi (Lawrence, N.Y.) and freshman Diana Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of March 30, 2004.

Volpi picked up his second win of the season in Adelphi's 15-6 victory over St. Michael's College. Volpi made 10 saves in the win, tying his season high. For his efforts Volpi was named the NYCAC Goalie of The Week.

The fifth ranked Panthers return to action Saturday, April 3rd when they play host to eighth ranked Bentley College at 1:00 pm.

Lopez scored nine goals and handed out two assists in the Panthers two-game road trip last weekend. She scored four goals and had one assists in Adelphi's 15-5 win over then #1 ranked Stonehill. The next day Lopez came back and scored five goals and tallied another assist in the Panthers 20-2 victory over AIC. For her efforts Lopez was named Division II Rookie of The Week by www.womenslacrosse.com.

Adelphi returns to action Thursday, April 1st when they play host to visiting Philadelphia University at 3:30 pm. The Rams are currently ranked 10th in the latest IWLCA poll, the Panthers are ranked 2nd.
