Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Kimani Blaize (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been named Adelphi's Athlete of The Week for the week of March 14, 2006.

Blaize led the Panthers to their first NCAA Division II Tournament win in fours years by scoring a career-high 28 points, including shooting an unconscious 9-12 from the field (7-9 from beyond the arc), in Adelphi's 90-86 win over Bentley. In the Panthers,69-54, regional semifinal loss to Stonehill Blaize chipped in 12 points and pulled down five rebounds.

For the tournament Blaize averaged 20 points, four rebounds, 2.5 assists and one steal per game. Adelphi finished the season 27-5 overall and captured both the NYCAC regular season and tournament title.
