Garden City, N.Y. - Juniors Matt Jordan (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and Jerri Lester (El Paso, Texas) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of February 28, 2006.

Jordan made his third trip to the ECAC Championships in three years, helping the men to a 13th place finish with 53 points. Individually Jordan placed seventh among Division I, II and III participants in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.48.

The men also swam well at the Metropolitan Swim Championships, claiming eighth overall

Lester was the only Adelphi women's representative at the ECAC Championships in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Lester scored 23 points and placed 17th our of 23 teams that scored.

Lester swam four events at the championships, placing in the top-10 in two events. She placed ninth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.43 and placed an impressive fifth overall in the 100-yard backstroke with a clocking of 1:00.1
